“I’ve made a huge mistake,” he said quietly.

He sat in his very empty apartment located on the opposite coast of the country that he wanted to be on—that he could have been on. That was Mistake-with-a-capital-M number One. He sucked in a shuddering breath before continuing. He trembled even though the air on his naked body was more than comfortably warm.

“I’m so sorry,” he murmured.

“What happened tonight, Sam?” his friend asked calmly.

Sam smiled bitterly through his tears.

“He took me rough, made me beg—“

“Oh, God… Sam!”

“—made me feel.”

“Wait for me.”
