Untitled Bloody Fic

PG-13 (violent)

Clarity Scifiroots

Started and finished: January 14, 2000

Author’s notes: please be prepared for a short, bloody story. This is much darker and in more detail than I usually do however I was intrigued at this idea and decided to use the Ronin Warriors for my characters. Send feedback to: lionna@execpc.com

Disclaimers: I do not own the characters in here besides that one attacker whom you’ll know when you see ‘er.

Looking about the room one last time, Mia finished dusting the furniture. “There now, so much better…” she grinned to herself before walking out the door. Surprisingly, even with Talpa attacking for the second time it wasn’t too bad. The guys were talking about special training alone but hadn’t split up yet as they waited to see if they needed to do something else.

As she walked down the stairs, the first thing she noticed was that all the guys were silent for once- thoughtful looks on each of their faces. Finally Rowen asked, “Do you think…?”

Sage shrugged in response and stood up, “Might as well find out, c’mon you guys… let’s go check this out.”

“Wait,” Cye stopped everyone before they powered up into their sub-armor, “Someone has to stay here to protect Yulie and Mia…”

Ryo knitted his dark eyebrows together in concentration, “He’s right you know. Why don’t you stay here, um Sage.”

The wearer of the Armor of Halo shrugged in response, “Okay then, but you guys need to head out.”

“Right… c’mon you guys let’s go!” Kento exclaimed as he put on his sub-armor, the others followed and the four Ronins ran out the door leaving Sage behind.

Not saying anything as they ran down the path through the forest, Ryo kept his foreboding feelings inside, Something isn’t right… I can feel it… and I’m… I’m scared…’ “What the?” He started, he shook his head, Man they sent a lot of them out today…” soldiers flooded the area for long expanses and never seemed to end.

“Let’s kick some dynasty butt!” Kento yelled. Kicking out smartly with his right leg while punching with both fists he was able to knock through quite a few soldiers. To his left Rowen did practically the same.

When the first crash was heard Mia immediately responded without thinking, she grabbed Yulie’s hand and ordered, “Get out of here now and I mean OUT of this house! Do you understand? RUN AWAY!” She pushed him hard to get him moving just as the first wave of warriors filled the room. Sage swore under his breath and powered into his full battle armor quickly.

“It was a set up! The other attack was a distraction! They were after you and Yulie!” Sage shouted as he cut at the soldiers, sending the steaming corpses to dust. Mia was able to pick up a spear from the ground and began to use it, attacking her offenders as she backed Sage.

“Sage…” her voice wavered slightly, “Do you think we can deal with this alone?” Her companion didn’t reply at first, it could easily be that he was preoccupied… but…

He was quiet in response, “I’m not really sure…” Sage struck out again, not understanding why the soldiers were so set on this attack, they continued to pour into the house creating a black wave. ’I must protect her…’ suddenly a horrible thought hit him and he was distracted for only a moment, “Where’s Yulie?”

“I got him out of here! I only pray that he escaped alright!” Mia bit back pain as a solider sliced her arm. “We gotta fight it! Sage, we just got to!”

Cye wiped sweat from his face, “This is taking too long! Look how many continue to come in!” Glancing over at Rowen and Kento he commented to Ryo, “But we’re sure knocking out good with those two.”

Ryo only nodded, still holding back the awful feeling in his stomach, “C’mon let’s finish this. I don’t trust Sage alone with Mia… and Yulie.”

“Ah… jealous are we?” Cye grinned as he kicked out.

“Shut up! Focus on the fight!” So it was left at that as Ryo fought with two things, his enemy soldiers and the gut feeling of darkness. Not even guessing what it really was, he fought on where it was not truly needed.

Mia grunted and held the staff tighter in her hand as a cut on her shoulder bled, coating her usual white shirt a dirty red. Sage seemed to not be doing too well either. As if on cue, all soldiers quit attacking and stood in a circle, holding weapons at the ready. “S- Sage…”

“I don’t like it either…” he replied as the two of them went back to back, on the ready at a moment’s notice. Sage wasn’t given a chance to warn Mia as a strange female figure in all black appeared in front of him, sword already drawn and aimed.

Sage’s back arched in pain, his mouth agape as blood appeared at the edges and dripped down his chin. The woman in front of him snarled and pushed the sword deeper into his middle until the blade only was seen about a quarter of it’s length on Sage’s front. Mia was frozen in horror as she backed away from the gruesome site, blood spilled down the Armor of Halo’s shiny surface.

He was kneeling in moments, hands on the sword as gurgling noises were made, his last understandable words were, “Mia… run…”

The only thing she could do was shriek, not able to manage a scream or even tears Mia stared at her friend as his eyes rolled back and he fell on his side. Blood spilled onto the carpet to forever mark the memory of the day.

“You’re…” the woman in black strode up to Mia with her sheen sword drawn and prepared to cut, “next…”

The dynasty soldiers disappeared together and all at once, as if on cue. Ryo sweated in anxiety, “This isn’t right you guys…”

“So? They just got coward!” Kento exclaimed.

Cye frowned, “Ryo’s right… something is horribly wrong. They shouldn’t just go off like that… This had to be…”

Rowen’s eyes widened as he finished, “Planned! Oh my god…”

They all exchanged looks and ran as fast as they could back to the house. Ryo could barely breathe as he felt something just too out of place or as if… as if… something was missing….

Something they certainly never expected was Yulie standing outside the house with White Blaze at his side. “Ryo! You guys! Hey Sage and Mia need help in there! We’re okay out here ‘cuz White Blaze has taken care of them so far.” No one stopped to reply as they ran and jumped onto the balcony and entered through a window.

Inside there were signs of battle everywhere yet no soldiers were there to be found. What caught Rowen’s attention was the light off of something green… it was then that all eyes were on the two females left standing.

As if in slow motion Ryo’s mouth opened, his voice rose as he screamed, “NO! MIA! SAGE! NO!”

Mia couldn’t make herself move even with the soldiers now disappeared and the woman approaching her. All that she could think of or see was Sage, his face as he groped at the sword in his stomach and the blood running down his face.

She was clearly aware when a sword entered her own middle, Mia felt the blood come to her mouth and spill down her cheek; the pain she let out was through a high-pitched screech of sound too high to be heard. She stumbled to stand, wanting to at least find out who this attacker was, and find out if Sage was… Sage was… but she couldn’t just think of him, she realized. Her own life was fading and she knew it. She saw the blackness bite hungrily at her vision and felt the claws of death reach from her belly to her chest. As the pain slowly tore at her she heard the cry… the scream of despair from the man she had loved. Her last thought before passing out was simply, ’Ryo…’

“NO!” Ryo ran forward, his katanas in hand as they lit ablaze themselves and jumped at the attacker. The woman never spoke a word as one sword neatly slit her throat and the other her middle. She simply slipped to the floor and disappeared into ashes.

The blood about the floor was enough to stain a dozen shirts over, and it was more than enough to make Cye sick. The four remaining Ronins sunk to their knees as Ryo brought Mia’s head to his lap. Rowen lifted Sage’s mask off but quickly replaced it, turning away after seeing the display of pain too obviously sketched on the face.

Ryo stared at Mia, almost too afraid to check a pulse and it was finally Kento that did so. His voice was choked as he said, “Faint too faint, it’ll be too late…” he whispered the last part as tears fell.

“No…” Cye’s tears fell to the floor and mixed with the blood still spilling from Mia’s body.

Her eyes were in slits as her mouth opened and close, like that of a fish out of water, words were so hard to come by but finally the sounds made their presence, “RyYulie… k?” He only nodded to her, tears falling off his face, “’tack… quick… not able… stop… ‘age… ‘illed…” she broke off with a deep intake of breath. Pain clouded her face, “Sorry… too … ‘eak… take care… guys…” She wasn’t able to keep it up and finally gave up the fight. The pain finished clawing it’s way to her lungs where it held them closed ‘til no long she was breathing.

Sobs were all that filled the living room as the last Ronin Warriors let out their desperation and sorrow. They couldn’t even think back, not even imagining redoing everything knowing it hurt more if they did so. When Yulie finally came in with White Blaze all he could do was scream and run back, so scared at the site. No one was able to reach out to him since they didn’t know how to comfort themselves, how could they help such a young boy cope with it?

Yulie wasn’t able to hold it back as the remains of his lunch were thrown onto the floor, White Blaze steadied him as he did so until the young boy could finally stand again. “Oh Mia… Sage…” he whispered into the white tiger’s skin, “Why did you have to just save me? I can’t stand it… oh you guys…” the tears trailed off of White Blaze’s silk fur and dotted the already stained carpet.

The sun set outside, leaving the horizon a crimson color, fitting the blood that had been spilled that night.

Told you it would be bloody… that’ll be all for now folks! Oh yeah I forgot, this is my second Ronin Warrior fanfic. I’m usually attuned to writing Sailor Moon fanfiction and not other anime but now…. I’ve actually completed a few others so if you’re interested in fanfictions for: The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Ranma 1/ 2, or Sailor Moon let me know. (Or if you’re a fan of Zorro I have a fanfiction there too) Ja ne minna-san!
