My ratings: Due to the various MPAA hullabalooh that I've heard over the past couple of years, I've taken to using generalized ratings & noting warnings in fic headers. I use the following categorizations:
~ All: little swearing, no sexual content, relatively angst-free ~ Teen: swearing, implied sexual content, general violence, angst of varying levels ~ Mature: non-graphic Sexual content (little to implied description), violence, heavy angst, "dark", subject matter such as suicide, assault, etc. ~ Adults Only: graphic sexual content, graphic violence
